Tirta Empul is a major temple complex and holy mountain spring in the village of Manukaya in central Bali. The site is the legendary setting of a traditional tale about good versus evil. It's also a national cultural heritage site.

10. Gunung Kawi Temple

Gunung Kawi Temple , Found in the Tampak Siring area, where the Pakerisan River runs through, Gunung Kawi is one of Bali's oldest archaeological sites. It is believed that Pura Gunung Kawi was constructed in 1080 AD by King Anak Wungsu in honor of his father and brother. It features shrines carved into some eight-meter high sheer cliff faces, as well as a whole compound that winds through the areas rich vegetation. Its a must visit on a trip to Bali .
